![]() ![]() Primed the pump a few more times, and it did the same thing each time. I had to bleed the fuel system to make the connections, and when I repeated the test, the pressure climbed up to 90, then bled off quite quickly to around 48 psi. I went and hooked the fuel pressure guage directly to the sending unit with rubber fuel line and hose clamps. Tried a little less vacuum, still no start, figured I'd give this site another try. It goes up to about 26psi and stays there, bleeds off very slowly, but wouldn't start with 26 psi of vacuum. I tried applying some vacuum with my vacuum tester. I'm doing what I can, the pressure regulator has a vacuum hose, and it looks ok. ![]() Where is the fuel pressure test port? Figured I'd get some more info before taking off the throttle body. How do you test the fuel pressure regulator on this engine. But I can't find a manual for this vehicle, so I don't know how to test it. I called Ford for a price on a new one, it's called something else now and costs like $200. I found the fuel pressure regulator on the end of the rail, and lots of fuel pressure in there when I loosen it. Thought it was the pump, but I can't find the fuel pressure test valve on the fuel rail. So I figure a fuel problem.Ĭhanged the fuel filter, old one was fine. It was fine one day and the next day it just grinds and grinds, but won't fire. There is a TSB on this, where corrosion can build up between the aluminum FPDM case and the steel cross member, causing the module to crack. Teh Fuel Pump Driver Module ( FPDM ) on the cross member under the back of the truck. Fuel Inertia switch ( assume you checked this, but it was not called out ) 2. The fuse is fuse 34 ( only for 04 & 05 MYs ) which is called Fuel injectors in the 04 Owners Manual. For the new body style F-150 the fuel pump relay is not a serviceable item, it is built into the fuse panel. ![]()
